National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder. 

At the NCAR Library and Archives we are seeking volunteers interested in archives and/or library science for a variety of projects, including cataloging/metadata creation, processing archival collections (documents, manuscripts, films, videos..., photos), working with our new Institutional Repository OpenSky, scholarly publishing issues and open access, and oral history. NCAR is a federally funded research center and our Library and Archives serve primarily an academic community of scientists, engineers, programmers, economists, and others.
